Our Story

 The idea for Lasting Wishes was born from a personal journey—a final farewell to a dear friend of 40 years.

After he was diagnosed with a terminal illness, my friend faced the unknown with a quiet strength. But one thing he knew with absolute certainty was where he wanted to spend eternity: on a remote mountain that bore his family name, where he and his father had spent many youthful years hunting and fishing.

When the time came, his wife and I, along with his sister, made the long, steep journey by four-wheel drive to that beautiful spot. We scattered his ashes by the creek below the mountain, said our goodbyes, and made the quiet, long trip back. It was during that silence that a new path became clear to me.

I realized that not everyone is in a position to fulfill a loved one's final wish. Physical limitations, logistics, and the emotional weight of grief can make such a journey impossible. Seeing the profound peace on my friend's face when he knew his wishes would be honored, I felt called to extend that same sense of closure and comfort to others.
